App & Branding 

Overview:

Stride is an app that breaks physical and mental barriers to show that anyone can be a runner and establish new healthy habits to keep striding forward.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Goal: Create a modern visual identity.

  • Objective: Develop a versatile logo and cohesive brand materials suitable for both digital and print media.

​

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Role: Lead Designer

  • Responsibilities: Conducting research, developing concepts, creating the final design, and presenting to the client.

​

Process and Workflow:

  • Research and Discovery:

    • Conducted user surveys and interviews to develop two primary user personas, representing a diverse range of users aged 20 to 60, from various backgrounds, including college students and professionals.

    • Discovered the importance of personalization in the app, especially given its focus on mental health.

  • Concept Development:

    • Created initial sketches and mood boards.

    • Focused on combining elements of running and mental health in a meaningful way.

  • Design Process:​

    • Used Adobe Illustrator to develop the logo, iterating based on feedback.

    • Focused on developing home tiles to display data insights on the app dashboard, ensuring clarity and cohesion. These tiles were also integrated into a smartwatch interface, such as an Apple Watch.

    • Developed wireframes, site maps, and high-fidelity prototypes.

  • Challenges and Solutions:

    • The app's feature-rich nature presented complexity, requiring a prototype to fully understand interactions. This highlighted the depth of development.

    • Naming the app and brand was challenging. Ultimately, "Stride" was chosen to represent both physical and mental progress, embodying simplicity and balance.

  • Logo Development:

    • Created a dynamic "S" inspired by yin and yang to symbolize balance.

    • Used the golden ratio technique for visual harmony.

    • Designed a logo depicting a subject striding out of a circle, representing the brand's forward momentum.

Final Deliverables:

  • Logo: Delivered in multiple formats (PDF, EPS, PNG).

  • Brand Guidelines Document: Detailed the use of the new visual identity across various media.

  • Marketing Materials: Mockups of business cards and letterheads.

​

Visuals and Presentation:

  • High-Quality Images: Showcased the final logo and branding materials.

  • Mockups: Included realistic mockups of business cards and letterheads.

  • Process Images: Displayed initial sketches and digital iterations.

  • Client Feedback: "The new branding has revitalized our company’s image, making us more appealing to a modern audience while respecting our legacy."

    • Yin and Yang: Symbolizing balance, used in the logo to represent mental and physical harmony.

    • The Golden Ratio: Applied for visual balance and aesthetic appeal.

    • Mind and Body Connection: Highlighted the importance of mental well-being for physical health, and vice versa, influencing the app's design philosophy.

Stride has a unique app set up where the app is spastic to each users needs and desires. with personalized "Stride Control panel" every user will have the ability to have the meaningful data they wish to hav about there Stride Journey.

Moments and Journeys 

In the app there is Moments and Journeys, Moment provide the user with a fast calming exercise and Journeys provides the user with a road map based of a specific gaol or habit.

Advertisments

The goal of the advertisements is to engage prenatal new users and to communicate in a clear message how the app would benefit them.
